ZIG Bee in the pencil

December 11, 1982.  It was my birthday.  Lopez, Quezon.  It was my birthplace and Ziegfred Cervantes Noscal is my name.
Remembering how I grew up could be painstaking but I can walk you through and I can walk you around my life up to how you can see me writing this autobiography.

I am a man of many definitions but mine and Mr. Webster might differ.
Being a kid is typical but living in a box made me different. I thought Lopez is a box, a rounded box.
I thought I will stay there all my life.  It was my comfort zone.

I still see the back pages of our calendar, written with musical compositions that I need to memorize because I have a bandurria performance the next month after.  It still resounds in me the voice of Soeur Surilla, as she repeatedly made us recite and pronounce words in certain accents.  I can remember tiresome days and nights preparing for competitions and bagging the bacon right after.  I can no longer count how many legs I had broken every time everyone wishes me luck but I will definitely not forget the time when ‘Nanay’ will make me a lipstick bronzer because I need to get up on a stage to deliver my valedictory address.

‘Nanay’ had high hopes that I will become a priest and I even thought so.  Dare me to recite a mass and you will definitely lose your bet.  So I started as a knight of the altar. But girls from the choir are singing too strong that right after grade school, I decided to start quitting the celibacy call.

PUP had been my teen and collegiate home and I am now starting to define my place, myself and my family.  My ‘Nanay’ is an Escobar, but my middle name is Cervantes.  So I had my share of walking out.

I know I sing but I didn’t know that I will be paid to sing.  It paid my studies well.  At this age, I already know how to strategize.
In my world, I think I’m okay.  I wake up in the morning, walk to church, be an hour early in school, beat my butt out during the day, walk to church, then go home.  Sounds right, right?

Everyone say high school years are your best years in life.  But I don’t remember any of those years as best, but rather usual.  I had my teenage heartbreaks, yes, and I had my time to even make a heart break, mind you.

College, for me, is purely academic.  Mess up on your grade school, mess up on your high school, but never mess up on your college because this your Grade 1 to your life.  Just like high school, every day is usual and getting a Latin honour is just usual.  I’m a top-notch, remember?

Then the world began to open up.  This is the world that I am not sure of.  All I wanted to do is to graduate, and I am now a graduate.  What’s next?

My credentials say I’m a top-notch but the world says I’m a toddler and I don’t even know how to walk yet.  So I started my steps.   I tried to unlearn and relearn everything.  My box is gone.  I thought life is straightforward but it is reading between the lines instead.

I started struggling, but meeting different people, who are just as struggling as you are, makes you a better person and a wiser individual.

The key to success is meeting the right people, being in the right place and surrounding yourself with the bests.   Prerequisite though, is that, you must already knew yourself and what you want.  That is the difficult part and that is step 1.

In my case, it has to be always scientific.  Observe->make questions->draw your hypothesis->do your experiment->then conclude.
This is my guide.  This can be your guide.

Step 2, define what success is to you.  If you think success is money, find a high paying job, invest in cash flows, there are a lot of options.  If success for you is happiness and peace, invest in your love ones, your partner, your friends, your family.

Step 3 then, is to open up your options.  Often times you will fail, but consistently work on it and you will get it in His timing.  The game is long.  Being fast is just short time but being consistent, usually, makes the clincher.

Step 4.  Continuously improve.  Learn new tricks.

Step 5 is the easiest.  Pray.   Ask for guidance and that you will always be blessed. Share what you have and share it entirely.  Without you knowing, it is all coming back to you, in ways you can never imagine.

Sharing you the Bio-Rhythm of a friend. :)

SUGAR & SPICE

Parang can't seem to come up with any idea but flowers. I'm stranded with flowers, flowers flowers. Here's another flowers.
Use your paint application. Draw something for a change.

TAGAY.TAY! (I snatched the name from Tots)

Jologz pips combined for a trip to TGTY. No more kwentos i don’t want the drama detailed stories for now. I’ll just count the 11 things I remembered that day. I’ll post some of the pictures later.
Sour Tuna Kimchi
Nhamay’s very own version of kimchi. Which is sour and spicy but I like the tuna honestly. Note that we never complained with taste of kimchi but it has a very strong aroma. It smells like 5 Indians in one room and not to mention it sticks with our clothes, bedsheets and skins.
Zara’s Couple Sucks. (it’s original name form zen forgive him for the words)
Socks are fine what strikes me about the gifts is about an old saying whenever you received a pair of socks as a gift from someone you have to pay the person who gave the gift with any amount to avoid future conflict with that person.
Zen’s miniature pumpkins
Zen said it’s a trick or treat gifts. It’s a mini jack-o-lantern that kids used to carry with a candle inside while walking in the street. Of course there is an exemption if you want to know that you have to ask Misel with the odd one.
Tapa King’s Unsweetened Champorado
We requested Hawaiian or Pepperoni from Totz but the pizza turned into a champorado which is the odd one because champorado suppose to be sweet but its bitter so I requested sugar from the counter. I don’t get it if really the champorado is bitter or the conversation while eating.
Jaja’s Friendship Bracelet from BORA
Dapat kasi we’re wearing party hats but it’s too obvious so why not wear the bracelet from jaja. So far I received three gifts that day.
TGTY Place of worships near the heavens
Zen’s famous remark “very liberating.” Just so you know we need to pray when we are inside the church but it’s the other way around for him. Doesn’t sound so bitchy but quite naughty lang i guess. The catch is you need to climb the mini mountain to get there. Muscle pain come on!

Fart Choir’s Members @ Caleruega.
I didn’t count the times I heard myself and them farting at least some of them especially Misel and Ninang had the decencies to say “uutot ako ha”. But I did the record breaking six-second fart.
ShortCUT to Manila
Erol is a good driver. Safety is not the problem but don’t give him the navigation since he can’t do two things at the same time. We all fell asleep for a moment going back to manila and after few minutes we’re lost. I’m pointing my finger to my face I shouldn’t sleep while he was driving since I know he could experiment and mix up the word Short Cut.
Misel’s Exam
The only reason why I don’t want the long short cut ways it’s because our resident psychologist is inside the car and reviewing for her final exam. We have the deadline for 11:30 we need the chopper or the teleportation panels.
Ninang’s Surprise Video
“You are the only exception and you are the only exception” “ may nagtext hindi lang isa kundi dalawa” inspired with music video made by ninang under supervision of someone. I’m allotting my few hours studying the movie maker this coming November.
GODBless the Jologz.
Thanks

VENTRILOQUIST DOLL

Probably this is the most common type of a girl hahaha. Hail to those who don’t belong to this group. If your girl friend is totally crazy in love with a guy I bet there are 60% of chances she will contaminate by this virus. For example I had this girl friend whom I labelled so much with word playgirl since she only cares for sex, She just want the guy for sex and so she had it every week, but suddenly her world turned into upside down when she started to expect from the guy. Sexually committed with a guy that is currently in a relationship and the worst part is she never admitted that she falls so deep. Our conversation will turned into bittersweet when she start to tell us that they share food every lunch, wait each other after office hours, dinner together and sex of course. Even if sugar coating is free I wouldn’t do that in her case. Since the guy is a jerk who just ate our friend’s pride in just an instant and we totally don’t believe with drama because the guy never said I love you to her even once. Truly brain is inversely proportional with the heart, the more the heart grows the brain shrinks proportionally. If “I care for you” or “you’re special” are enough for you girls to stay in a relationship that will be a bad sign for guys to not take you seriously.

ELE-MENT-ARY GAMES

I had great Sunday with my two best friends zen and misel. This is not your typical stroll to a club drinking or a march to a dance floor following the beat of the music. I’m not talking about playing the piano while wearing your suit and tie or rehearsal for the ballet performance. This is simply a dinner at Chowking at 7pm and tambay in Cypress near the swimming pool. We retraced our steps back in elementary for favourite games.
I don’t want to elaborate but do you still remember the Tumbang-Preso and the can of sardines LIGO? Hahaha you’re a weakling if you didn’t hit the can with your tsinelas atleast once in the game.
How about the Tropang trumpo? Lack of interest for the girls.
Ang dirty game paway, again I don’t want to elaborate but you have to use your pair of slippers for this game. Hindi ito tatsing pero probably it’s closer to that idea.
The rubber band invasion after class or recess, I know you can remember that. The annoying rubber bands can turn into a long elastic string for Chinese garter, Telebert-telebert and limbo rack. Don’t ignore the Buwan-Buwan, Hugo’t Tali, Kalag dahil it will come in handy when you lose some of the rubber bands.
We should call kalsadahan the patintero since the road with two lane lines are the best place for this game. Nakakainis lang if you’re in the middle of the game and stopped suddenly just to give way to tricycles and jeepneys.
Habulan is the counter part of treadmill in gyms, why? Because you have to run para hindi ka mataya.
Use your stairs for Moon,Sun,Daisy and wear your colourful shirts for Whats the color?
Lungsong-Baka and Luksong-Tinik is accompanied by Kasal-Kasalan.
Of course Zen, Misel and I tried the Domepasomi, Nanay Tatay and their favourite “the meaning of the Chacha cha”. Baliw lang for Sunday.
